ABOUT

Turner currently serves as Director of Instrumental Music at Ensworth Middle School in Nashville. After graduating summa cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University in 2022, he served as Band Director at W.H. Oliver Middle School from 2022 to 2025. During his time at Oliver, his ensembles earned straight Superior ratings at Concert Performance Assessment and Solo and Ensemble events in Middle Tennessee. Turner is an active member of the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association.

As a performer, Turner is a multi-instrumentalist experienced in a wide variety of styles. He currently plays alto saxophone and flute for Afrobeat legend Sunny Dada's Afrokokoroot Afrobeat Ensemble. He has been with the ensemble since 2020 and performed on its 2024 release World Peace. Turner regularly performs in horn sections both locally and around the country for weddings and corporate events. He plays tenor saxophone and clarinet for songwriter Christian Slader, whose band The Chambered Orchestra will be releasing its debut album in 2026. Turner has also performed in pit orchestras for various high school productions, Belmont University's theatre program, and the Cumberland County Playhouse. Turner is available for live or session performance (in-person/remote), weekend or summer travel, and private lessons on saxophone, flute, and clarinet.
